Moments of Hope: Leave the Chalice, Grab the Hand

The final scene of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade takes place in a cave. A woman named Elsa is desperately reaching for the Holy Grail, which has fallen through a crack in the ground onto a ledge above an abyss. Elsa has fallen, too, and Indiana holds her by the wrist, but she is slipping. He tells her to let the Grail go and grab him with both hands so he can save her, but she will not, and so soon falls to her death. Sometimes there are things that we can hold on to that are so very costly to us. The story repeats itself again, but this time with a different ending. That is the ending we must pursue.
